Regular Season Round 24: Marin - COB 77-53

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Marin (22-0) outplayed at home 10th ranked COB (9-13) 77-53 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Marin. COB was better in fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Marin forced 21 COB turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Desmond Simmons (198-92, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import power forward Tre Hale-Edmerson (206-92, college: CS Northridge) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Marin's coach Javier Llorente felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Daniel Fernandez (195-99) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Diosdado Mendizabal added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for COB. Marin have an impressive 22-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A-B with 22-0 record. COB lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Marin will face bottom-ranked Rosalia (#10) in Santiago de Camp. in the next round and are hoping to win another game. COB will play at home against Leon and hope to win that game.
