Very expected game when 6th ranked Tenerife Naut. (14-13) lost to second ranked Almansa (21-5) in Santa Cruz de Ten. 70-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Almansa. Tenerife Naut. was better in fourth quarter 23-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American center Thomas Granado (208-88, college: Concordia Irvine, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Jose Santonja (200-92) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-91) replied with 24 points and power forward Samuel Rodriguez (200-97) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tenerife Naut.Four Tenerife Naut. players scored in double figures. Almansa have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Newly promoted Almansa maintains second position in Group B with 21-5 record having just three point less than leader Vic. Tenerife Naut. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 13 games lost. Almansa will face league's leader Azuqueca at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tenerife Naut. will play against Rivas (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
