Regular Season Round 32: Algeciras - Medacbasket 85-75

Rather expected game when 4th ranked Medacbasket (18-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Algeciras (20-7) 85-75 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American Michael Murray (196-91, college: Coppin St.) who scored 31 points (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). Center Jose-Maria Balmon (204-81) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Mike Middlebrooks (206-92, college: Adams St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import forward Deshawn Curtis (198-92, college: Cheyney) added 27 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Algeciras maintains second position in Group D-Clasif with 20-7 record having just one point less than leader Vic. Loser Medacbasket dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Algeciras will face Almeria (#6) on the road in the next round. Medacbasket will play against Cordobasket and hope to win that game.
