Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Ensino (4-11) lost to seventh ranked Estudiantes (8-7) in Lugo 72-77 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for German power forward Frieda Buehner (186-2004, college: Florida) who led the winners and scored 22 points. Polish power forward Liliana Banaszak (186-2000, agency: SPORTFORUM Agency) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Lydia Giomi (198-1997, college: Oregon) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and Haitian swingman Jessica Fequiere (180-1993, college: Albany) added 9 points respectively for Ensino in the defeat. Estudiantes moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Ensino dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Celta Zorka and Cadi La Seu. Estudiantes will meet at home Gernika (#5) in the next round. Ensino will play against Valencia (#3) and hope to secure a win.
