There was a surprise result when ninth rankedMelilla (4-7) defeated at home higher ranked La Zubia (7-4) 76-65 on Saturday. Melilla dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to La Zubia 's 22. The best player for the winners was Georgian center Nika Ratiani (216-2002) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Dutch Jonathan Verkerk (198-2003) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Five Melilla players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Argentinian forward Alejandro Bortolussi (202-1989) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and point guard David Garcia Gazquez (180-1993) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Melilla moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Mataro Parc and Fuengirola. La Zubia at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams.
