An interesting game forEstepona (13-3) which hosted in Malaga 3rd placed AzulMarino (12-5). Second ranked Estepona had an easy win 62-46 . It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of AzulMarino. Estepona made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 AzulMarino turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by AzulMarino helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Marina Gea (172-2001) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Ruth Sherrill (188-1994, college: Temple) contributed with 9 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Montenegrin power forward Kristina Rakovic (186-1994) answered with 7 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Maria Espana (180-1992) added 11 points in the effort for AzulMarino. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Estepona maintains second place with 13-3 record having just two points less than leader Leganes. AzulMarino at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Zamora.
