Not a big story in a game in Barcelona where 10th ranked Boet Mataro (7-10) was defeated by second ranked Cortegada (12-5) 62-53 on Saturday. Cortegada dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Boet Mataro's 20. Iria Losada (180-2002, agency: Promo Sport ID) stepped up and scored 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Mali center Aminata Traore (191-2000) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. Emma Barcelo (-1996) responded with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Ariadna Magrina (164-1994) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. Cortegada maintains second place with 12-5 record having just three points less than leader Logrono, which they share with Coruna. Loser Boet Mataro dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with GDKO Bizkaia and Mondragon. Cortegada will meet at home GEIG (#5) in the next round. Boet Mataro will play against Valladolid (#13) and hope to secure a win.
