The game had a very big importance for second-rankedValencia as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Valencia smashed 9th ranked Gernika at home 102-49 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gernika. Valencia dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gernika 's 28. At the losing side international Irati Etxarri (187-1998) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Dutch forward Laura Westerik (176-1998) scored 8 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Gernika at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Estudiantes and Ferrol.
