Everything went according to plan when fifth rankedLa Zubia (9-9) defeated at home 12th ranked Motril (2-4) 85-73 on Saturday. La Zubia outrebounded Motril 55-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by point guard David Garcia Gazquez (180-1993) who scored that evening 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Eloy Almazan (199-1984) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by Marcos Vigo (191-1998) did not help to save the game for Motril . Forward Alberto Perez (193-1998) added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Four Motril players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Zubia maintains fifth position with 9-9 record. Newly promoted Motril dropped to the thirteenth place with four games lost.
