Sixth-rankedMelilla (13-8) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Estepona (18-3) on Saturday. The visitors from Malaga managed to secure only one-point victory 66-65 . However their fans expected much easier game. Guard Marina Gea (172-2001) saved the victory by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. American-French Alyssa Lawrence (185-1995, college: UMass) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Estepona's coach Francis Tome used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Canadian Marie Forsyth (185-1999, college: Idaho) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Clara Caceres (167-1997) added 14 points in the effort for Melilla. Estepona have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 18-3 record behind leader Leganes. Melilla at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost.
