We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th rankedGernika (13-13) was rolled over on the road by ninth ranked Ferrol (13-12) 80-56 on Saturday. Ferrol made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Gernika turnovers. Power forward Noa Morro (190-2004) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Blanca Millan (185-1998, college: Maine) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Dutch forward Laura Westerik (176-1998) responded with 22 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and center Awa Thiam (192-2006, college: Pima CC) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ferrol moved-up to eighth place. Loser Gernika dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost.
