No shocking result in a game when third rankedAlcorcon (17-5) defeated at home 9th ranked Lleida (10-13) 68-64 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Alcorcon outrebounded Lleida 51-26 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Vega Lopez (188-2003, college: Iona, agency: DC Sports) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Marta Aranda (170-1999, college: Southeastern) helped adding 15 points and 6 assists. Hungarian power forward Laura Biczo (186-2000) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Clara Mertz produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Alcorcon have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 17-5 record having four points less than leader Logrono. Loser Lleida dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with GDKO Bizkaia and Aranguren.
