Regular Season Round 25: Mataro Parc - Zuera 80-71

There was a small surprise when thirteenth rankedMataro Parc (8-16) won against at home 11th ranked Zuera (8-17) 80-71 on Sunday. Mataro Parc forced 25 Zuera turnovers. Strangely Zuera outrebounded Mataro Parc 40-24 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Jesus Castillo (197-1999, college: UIS) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and center Antonio Ruiz (202-1997) chipped in 16 points. Five Mataro Parc players scored in double figures. Mataro Parc's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Cuban guard Raudelis Guerra (191-1993) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and Senegalese Mouhamed Diallo (-2002) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Mataro Parc moved-up to twelfth place which they share with defeated Zuera . Zuera lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Mataro Parc will meet higher ranked Esparreguera (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zuera will play against Andratx (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
