Very important is a road loss of third rankedArchena (14-12) against fifth ranked Melilla (15-11) on Saturday night. Visiting Archena was crushed by Melilla in Melilla 108-71 . It was a key game for the second position in the league. Melilla forced 22 Archena turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Melilla players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Point guard Javier Garcia (188-2001) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists. Swingman Jeffrey Godspower (196-2002) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five Melilla players scored in double figures. Dominican forward Yeikson Montero (196-1996, college: EMU) replied with 14 points and 5 assists and center Sergio Mendiola (207-1996) added 17 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) in the effort for Archena. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Melilla moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Archena dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Huesca and Caja 87.
