Estepona looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by AzulMarino helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Ruth Sherrill (188-1994, college: Temple) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Guard Marina Gea (172-2001) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Four Estepona players scored in double figures. Portuguese guard Maria Bettencourt (173-1991) produced 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and swingman Maria Espana (180-1992) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
