There was a minor upset in Las Palmas where 8th rankedMostoles (4-4) was defeated by tenth ranked Gran Canaria 2 (5-4) 76-62 on Saturday. Gran Canaria 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Mostoles ' 26. Mama Doumbia stepped up and scored 29 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Lala Toure chipped in 21 points and 15 rebounds. Gran Canaria 2's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Barbara Rodriguez with 15 points and 6 assists and forward Vega Lopez (188-2003, college: Iona) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Mostoles players scored in double figures. Gran Canaria 2 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sanfer and Ointxe!. Loser Mostoles keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Genero and Barakaldo.
