There was a small surprise when twelfth rankedArxil (4-9) edged on the road 10th ranked Gijon (4-9) 91-90 on Sunday. Arxil forced 22 Gijon turnovers. American guard Nia Daniel (178-2001, college: Troy) nailed 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and Nathanael Lemongang accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Arxil players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Merissah Russell (183-2002, college: Louisville) came up with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and center Sofia Hamidi (185-2005) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Gijon in the defeat. Arxil moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated Gijon.
