Regular Season Round 21: Arxil - Coruna 70-74

Very expected game in Pontevedra where 12th ranked Arxil (5-16) was defeated by first ranked Coruna (18-3) 74-70 on Saturday. Coruna forced 22 Arxil turnovers. Serbian guard Nevena Dimitrijevic (160-2000, college: SFC) stepped up and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and Sofia Arcos (-2002) chipped in 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Coruna's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was French point guard Kelly Chasse (163-2000) with 21 points and point guard Maria Gonzalez (175-1998) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Coruna maintains first place with 18-3 record. Arxil lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Lleida and Almeda. Coruna will meet at home UE Mataro (#5) in the next round. Arxil will play against Cortegada (#4) in Vilagarcia Arousa and hope to secure a win.
