Everything went according to plan when second ranked GEIG (19-5) outplayed 8th ranked Gran Canaria 2 (12-12) in Las Palmas 80-52 on Sunday. GEIG forced 36 Gran Canaria 2 turnovers. Marina Melero (-2005) nailed 25 points and 6 steals for the winning side and Julia Fernandez (-2003) accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds. Marta Redondo came up with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Emanuela Ezeanatogu added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Gran Canaria 2 in the defeat.
