Regular Season Round 3: AIK Basket - Trelleborg 86-61

Very expected game in Solna where Trelleborg (0-4) was rolled over by AIK Basket (2-0) 86-61. It looked good early as Trelleborg took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then AIK Basket had a 29-16 second period charge getting the lead and Trelleborg was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-86. AIK Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Trelleborg's 30. AIK Basket forced 21 Trelleborg turnovers and outrebounded them 50-32 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Trelleborg's players. It was a good game for guard Mattias Herlitz (190-94) who led his team to a victory with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Center David Hult (204-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Five AIK Basket players scored in double figures. AIK Basket's coach Asa Nellfors felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Anis-Ben Hamida (195-90) answered with 17 points and guard Jordan-Gerami Lou (-97) added 15 points in the effort for Trelleborg. AIK Basket will play against LF Future (#6) in Lulea in the next round. Trelleborg will play at home against IK Eos (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
