Regular Season Round 22: Istanbul BSB - Trabzonspor 89-74

An interesting game took place in Istanbul where higher ranked Trabzonspor (9-13) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Istanbul BSB (7-15) 89-74. It looked good early as Trabzonspor took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Istanbul BSB had a 25-21 second period charge getting the lead and Trabzonspor was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-89. Istanbul BSB forced 20 Trabzonspor turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds. Slovenian swingman Jaka Klobucar (198-87) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. American-Congolese guard Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) replied with 25 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and Polish power forward Damian Kulig (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) added 16 points in the effort for Trabzonspor. Five Istanbul BSB and four Trabzonspor players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Istanbul BSB have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourteenth place. Trabzonspor at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Istanbul BSB's next round opponent will be league's leader Anadolu Efes in Istanbul and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
