This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fourteenth ranked Cankaya (2-5) 94-81 on Friday evening. Cankaya forced 41 Gallardo turnovers. Strangely Gallardo outrebounded Cankaya 42-28 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cankaya looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Sule Aktas (-1998) who led the winners and scored 27 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Irem Akat (-2001) accounted for 23 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. American point guard Taniyah Thompson (160-2001, college: Georgia) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Betul Gulec (183-1997) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Gallardo in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cankaya moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Gallardo lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost.
