Very expected game when 14th rankedBuyukcekmece (1-6) lost to fifth ranked Besiktas (5-2) in Istanbul 84-95 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for Montenegrin-American point guard Derek Needham (180-1990, college: Fairfield) who led the winners and scored 18 points. American Jonah Mathews (191-1998, college: USC) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Besiktas' coach Dusan Alimpijevic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Dutch guard Yannick Franke (196-1996) came up with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian center Martynas Sajus (208-1996) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Buyukcekmece in the defeat. Four Buyukcekmece players scored in double figures. Besiktas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Pinar Karsiyaka. Buyukcekmece lost fifth consecutive game.
