The game had a very big importance for fourth-rankedErokspor as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Erokspor defeated 3rd placed Ankaragucu in Istanbul 84-78 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ankaragucu. It was a key game for the top position in the league. American point guard Maurice Watson (178-1993, college: Creighton) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 4 assists. Yigit Sarikaya (202-1999) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Erokspor players scored in double figures. Muhammed Baygul (191-1992, agency: Interperformances) answered with 25 points and 7 assists and American forward CJ Elleby (198-2000, college: WSU) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ankaragucu. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Sigortam.net and Cayirova. Ankaragucu at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost.
