The most exciting game of round 16 in the TBL took place in Istanbul. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th rankedTED Ankara (9-7) to first ranked Erokspor (12-4) 65-62 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of TED Ankara. They outrebounded TED Ankara 39-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Forward Berkay Bayar (196-1999) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American center Jeremy Simmons (204-1989, college: Charleston) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Simmons is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Senegalese center Abdoulaye Gueye (206-1994, college: Georgia Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Ahmet Tunali (203-1992) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Erokspor have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-4 record. TED Ankara at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Konya BBSK.
