Everything went according to plan when third rankedAnkaragucu (11-4) won against on the road 15th ranked Balikesir BBS (6-10) 89-72 on Monday. Ankaragucu looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward CJ Elleby (198-2000, college: WSU) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Hakan Yapar (202-1984) who added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Ankaragucu players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Alonzo Verge Jr (190-1998, college: Nebraska, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 assists and 5 steals and the former international power forward Umit Sonkol (206-1982, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ankaragucu have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Balikesir BBS keeps the fifteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Gaziantep and Kapakli Spor.
