There was an upset when higher rankedBurhaniye (7-9) lost to fifteenth ranked Cankaya (4-12) in Balikesir 59-75 on Friday. Cankaya made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 31 Burhaniye turnovers. The winners were led by Isilay Egin (190-2001) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and Sule Aktas (-1998) supported her with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Cankaya's coach Cagri Ozek used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even a double-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks by American center Shelby Cheslek (196-1992, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Burhaniye . Avinar Kaya (-1998) added 17 points for lost side. Cankaya moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Yalova Vip. Loser Burhaniye dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost.
