Important game to mention about took place in Ankara. Eleventh rankedEdirne (7-11) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 14th ranked Cankaya (4-14) 81-79 on Friday evening. Edirne forced 21 Cankaya turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Cankaya was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American center Zakyia Weathersby (188-1998, college: UAB) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds. Beril Arik (-1994) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Isilay Egin (190-2001) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and Sule Aktas (-1998) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Cankaya. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cankaya's coach Cagri Ozek tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Edirne maintains eleventh position with 7-11 record. Cankaya at the other side dropped to the fifteenth place with 14 games lost.
