There was a surprise result when fifteenth rankedCankaya (5-14) defeated higher ranked Mersin Secil (9-10) in Ankara 81-76 on Friday. Cankaya forced 20 Mersin Secil turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Isilay Egin (190-2001) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. Irem Akat (-2001) accounted for 18 points and 14 assists for the winning side. American center Kurstyn Harden (190-2000, college: SF Austin) came up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and Yagmur Yildiz (172-2000) added 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Mersin Secil in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cankaya maintains fifteenth place with 5-14 record. Newly promoted Mersin Secil dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Emlak 2.
