Bottom-rankedMerkezefendi managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive losses. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka in Izmir 95-71 . It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 24-point difference suggests that Merkezefendi is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The former international Egehan Arna (202-1997) nailed 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and American swingman Ben McLemore (196-1993, college: Kansas) accounted for 26 points and 5 steals. Four Merkezefendi players scored in double figures. Merkezefendi's coach Zafer Aktas felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International center Muhsin Yasar (210-1995) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Belgian Thomas Akyazili (190-1997, college: Colorado, agency: Octagon Europe) added 18 points and 9 assists respectively for Pinar Karsiyaka in the defeat. Merkezefendi maintains sixteenth place with 3-14 record. Pinar Karsiyaka lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost.
