There was a small surprise when eleventh rankedBursa U. (8-13) beat at home 8th ranked Mersin Secil (9-12) 82-73 on Friday. Bursa U. outrebounded Mersin Secil 45-33 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Essence Booker (173-1999, college: UNLV) stepped up and scored 26 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners and Nursima Uzumcu (-2001) chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Bursa U. players scored in double figures. Bursa U.'s coach Rebii Guney used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American center Kurstyn Harden (190-2000, college: SF Austin) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Yagmur Yildiz (172-2000) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Newly promoted Bursa U. maintains eleventh place with 8-13 record, which they share with Edirne. Mersin Secil lost their third game in a row. Mersin Secil at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Urla and Emlak 2.
