Everything could happen in Ankara at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth rankedYalova Vip and 14th ranked Cankaya had identical 6-14 record. But Cankaya was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Yalova 88-78 on Saturday night. Yalova Vip dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Cankaya 's 24 and made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They outrebounded Cankaya 47-26 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Yalova Vip looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Senegalese swingman Yacine Diop (178-1995, college: Louisville) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners and the former international power forward Melike Bakircioglu (191-1987) chipped in 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Yalova Vip players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Sule Aktas (-1998) with 16 points, 6 assists and 5 steals and Selin Ficicioglu (-2005) scored 18 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yalova Vip maintains thirteenth place with 7-14 record.
