Regular Season Round 21: Burhaniye - Kirklareli 74-73

The most exciting game of round 21 in the TKBL took place in Balikesir. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th rankedKirklareli (12-9) to seventh ranked Burhaniye (12-9) 74-73 in the game for the fifth place. Burhaniye forced 20 Kirklareli turnovers. Strangely Kirklareli outrebounded Burhaniye 45-0 including a 14- advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Shelby Cheslek (196-1992, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) who had a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 22 rebounds and 12 assists. Center Eylul Minez (185-1999) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Doniyah Cliney (182-1996, college: S.Carolina) who recorded 42 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and point guard Kardelen Gezgin (170-2000) added 7 points and 4 assists respectively. Burhaniye have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Fenerbahce G. and Kirklareli.
