There was an upset when higher rankedMersin BBGSK (11-8) lost on the road to fourteenth ranked Manisa (6-13) 105-100 on Saturday. Manisa looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Manisa made 10 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for South Sudanese-Australian center Jo Lual-Acuil Jr (213-1994, college: Baylor) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks. French swingman Hugo Besson (191-2001) accounted for 27 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American-Montenegrin guard Justin Cobbs (191-1991, college: California, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 23 points and 9 assists and Mexican guard Francisco Cruz (192-1989, college: Wyoming) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Mersin BBGSK in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Manisa moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Darussafaka. Newly promoted Mersin BBGSK dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Galatasaray.
