We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th rankedGalatasaray (12-10) lost to seventh ranked Mersin BBGSK (12-10) in Istanbul 73-89 on Saturday. Mersin BBGSK made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. British center Gabriel Olaseni (208-1991, college: Iowa) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the effort and Mexican guard Francisco Cruz (192-1989, college: Wyoming) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Mersin BBGSK players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 9 rebounds by Nigerian center Ebuka Izundu (208-1996, college: Miami, FL) did not help to save the game for Galatasaray . American James Palmer Jr (198-1996, college: Nebraska) added 13 points and 6 assists for lost side. Galatasaray's coach Yakup Sekizkok rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Mersin BBGSK moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Galatasaray.
