An interesting game forCayirova (11-2) which hosted in Kocaeli 4th placed Goztepe (10-3). Third ranked Cayirova managed to get a 9-point victory 87-78 . It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Goztepe. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Cayirova made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Hakan Yapar who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. point guard Omer Utku Al (181-1998) contributed with 17 points and 8 assists for the winners. Five Cayirova players scored in double figures. Senegalese center Abdoulaye Gueye (206-1994, college: Georgia Tech) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds and American point guard Jordan Barnes (178-1997, college: Indiana St.) added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Goztepe. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cayirova keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Konya BBSK. Goztepe at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost.
