Sixth-rankedTofas (6-6) made lots of trouble for top-ranked Besiktas (12-0) in Istanbul on Saturday. Besiktas managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72 . However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was American Jonah Mathews (191-1998, college: USC) who scored 16 points and 4 assists. The other American import Anthony Brown (199-1992, college: Stanford) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian center Marek Blazevic (209-2001) who recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds and Mexican-American point guard Alexander Perez-Kaufmann (191-1993) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Besiktas have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Tofas at the other side dropped to the eighth place with six games lost. They share the position with Erokspor.
