There was no surprise in Istanbul where 9th rankedDarussafaka Lassa (7-10) was defeated by second ranked Cayirova (15-3) 82-69 on Friday. Cayirova looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Roberto Gallinat (193-1996, college: Pacific, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 17 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Gani Gulaslan (202-1994) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Mert Akay (198-2000) with 7 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and power forward Ali Isik (206-1990) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cayirova maintains second position with 15-3 record having just one point less than leader Gaziantep. Loser Darussafaka Lassa dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Kahramanmaras.
