There was a small surprise when twelfth rankedBurhaniye (7-10) won against 9th ranked Emlak 2 (7-10) in Istanbul 72-57 on Friday. Burhaniye outrebounded Emlak 2 49-36 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Grace Efosa-Aguebor (180-2002, college: Providence, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Her fellow American import center ALexxus Davis (188-1996, college: USC Upstate) accounted for 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Efosa-Aguebor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Forward Dunya Hazeyen (178-2006) came up with 13 points and forward Feray Laic (185-2005) added 5 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Emlak 2 in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Burhaniye . They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Emlak 2 and Mersin Secil.
