There was no surprise when 13th ranked Edirne (5-17) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Mersin G. (11-11) 78-62 on Saturday. Mersin G. forced 23 Edirne turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Liatu King (183-2002, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and forward Ozge Karatas (174-1996, agency: 0z Sports Agency) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Robyn Lee (173, college: La Tech) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and forward Sevval Kaplan (184-2004) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Mersin G. moved-up to sixth place. Loser Edirne dropped to the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Mersin G. will meet Emlak 2 (#11) in the next round where they are favorite. Edirne will have a break next round.
