Regular Season Round 27: Hoverla - Dinamo 85-86

The most exciting game of round 27 in the Higher League took place in Ivano-Frankivsk. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-best Hoverla (18-3) to first ranked Dinamo (21-3) 86-85 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Hoverla. Hoverla was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 22-17 charge of Dinamo, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Sergiy Alfyorov (189-84) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Yaroslav Skrypets (195-91, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Yevgen Koroviyakov (199-88) who recorded 24 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Andriy Kalashnikov (175-89) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Dinamo maintains first place with 21-3 record. Hoverla at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
