Regular Season Round 10: MBC-Niko 2 - BIPA O. 73-70

Eighth-rankedBIPA (1-8) was very close to win a game against third ranked MBC-Niko 2 (7-2) in Mykolaiv. MBC-Niko 2 managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70 . However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-12 . But BIPA won second period 21-19 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when MBC-Niko 2 won last quarter 17-16 . They also forced 19 BIPA turnovers. BIPA was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Bogdan Lukian (183-1999) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Dmytro Lykhoy (202-2001, agency: BIG) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Kyrylo Nieamtsu (203-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and forward Mykhailo Rudyk (194-2005) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BIPA O.'s coach Oleksandr Ryabchuk tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. MBC-Niko 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Sambir. BIPA lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with eight games lost.
