Regular Season Round 9: Interkhim - Frankivsk 55-58

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Superleague took place in Odessa. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd placedInterkhim (6-8) to second ranked Frankivsk (10-4) 58-55 in the game for the second place. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 17-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was center Iryna Bugayova (185-2005) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds. The former international point guard Olha Sivakova (166-1992) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Frankivsk's coach Yuriy Protsyuk used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Olena Samburska (174-1989) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and guard Marina Petrzhyk (167-2002) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Frankivsk have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 10-4 record having four points less than leader Budivelnyk. Interkhim at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost.
