Regular Season Round 11: Marinos - Trotamundos 80-72

LPB top team - Marinos (8-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventh ranked Trotamundos (3-7) in Puerto La Cruz 80-72. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-20 Trotamundos' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 80-72 at the end of the game. Marinos players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a quality performance for American center Garret Siler (213-86, college: Augusta) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international forward Juan Herrera (197-81) accounted for 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Marinos players scored in double figures. American Robert Glenn (201-89, college: IUPUI) came up with 24 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard David Cubillan (181-87, college: Marquette, agency: Pro Sports) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for Trotamundos in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-2 record. Trotamundos at the other side keep the seventh position with seven games lost. Marinos will again play against Trotamundos (#7) in Valencia in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Trotamundos will have a break next round.
