The most exciting game of round 14 in the LPB took place in Caracas. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of second-ranked Cocodrilos (7-4) to sixth ranked Gaiteros (5-6) 86-84 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cocodrilos. They outrebounded Cocodrilos 50-39 including 39 on the defensive glass. 28 personal fouls committed by Cocodrilos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Nigerian-American power forward Reggie Okosa (208-80, college: La Salle) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. American-Dominican guard O'Darien Bassett (189-86, college: Troy) contributed with 23 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and American-German forward Julian Sensley (206-82, college: Hawaii, agency: Comsport) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Cocodrilos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gaiteros have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 5-6 record. Cocodrilos at the other side keep the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Guaros and Bucaneros. Gaiteros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cocodrilos will play again at home against Gaiteros and are hoping to win this game.
