Very important is a home loss of third ranked Trotamundos (18-14) against fifth ranked Panteras (10-20) on Friday night. Host Trotamundos were defeated by Panteras in a tough game in Valencia 90-95. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 33-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) stepped up and scored 36 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Kareem Canty (185-93, college: Auburn) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Panteras' coach Manuel Povea used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Ricardo Powell (199-83, college: S.Carolina) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international point guard David Cubillan (181-87, college: Marquette, agency: Pro Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Four Trotamundos players scored in double figures. Panteras maintains fifth place with 10-20 record. Trotamundos lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
