There was no surprise when 8th ranked AustrianUBI Graz (2-4) was crushed at home by third ranked Slovenian Maribor (6-2) 87-41 on Saturday. Maribor dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to UBI Graz 's 22. Maribor forced 28 UBI Graz turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by UBI Graz 's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Maribor made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Lena Trantura (173-2007) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 steals and Lana Iseinoski (172-2005) who added 14 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Maribor players scored in double figures. Ukrainian Khrystyna Kulesha (185-2004) responded with 3 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian guard Nika Cic (177-1998) scored 6 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maribor have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ilrija. UBI Graz lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Podgorica.
