Regular Season Round 11: Alytaus - RSU 73-60

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Latvian RSU (3-10) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Lithuanian Alytaus (3-6) 73-60 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Karolina Kazociunaite (180-1999) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Saule Mikelionyte (183-2000) helped adding 16 points. Four Alytaus players scored in double figures. Latvian point guard Emilija Trofimenko (168-2007) responded with 20 points and forward Paula Cirsa (176-2003) scored 15 points. RSU's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alytaus moved-up to sixth place. RSU lost their eighth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Alytaus will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. RSU will play against TSA Tallinn (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
