Rishon completes a perfect record in the Korac cup, although it played with only won players in 4,5 postions, since Joe Dawsen and Haim Shimonovich are injured. Motti Daniel had a great preformance playing power-forward.

4th round (4/11/98)
TTL Bamberg - Le Mans 79-68
Maccabi Rishon Le Zion - Benfica Lisbon 74-77 (Pacesas 19, Daniel 16, Jamchy 12, Dawsen 12, Kent 11, Washington 4 - Grant 19, Faulkner 19, Cargol 18, Seixas 9, Miguel 5, Ramos 5, Gomes 2)
Rishon suffered from a bad precentage from the arc, but during the 1st half, Rishon managed to lead the game: Rishon used the fact that tall slow guys like Greg Grant and Josep Cargol guarded smaller quicker guys like Motti Daniel and Tomas Pacesas. But at the end of the 1st half and at the begining of the 2nd half Benefica used the other side of the miss-match, and Greg Grant, Jamal Falkuner and Cargol made a lot of points under the basket, and led by 54-45 in the 27th minute. But then Ilan Kadosh and Pacesas started to pressure Benfica's playmakers, and with a good closure of the tall guys, and Rishon managed to lead 40 seconds to the end. But then Cargol scored 4 points, with Duane Washington in between missing the chance to win the game, 4 seconds to the end.

5th round (11/11/98)
Maccabi Rishon Le Zion - TTL Bamberg 72-62 (Jamchy 19, Daniel 16, Dawsen 16, Kadosh 12, Pacesas 5, Washington 4 - )
Rishon promised the 1st place in it's house, with an excellent game by Doron Jamchy. Bamberg managed to lead at some times with a great game by Walter Palmer, but a very static game, and weak preformance from Jans Uwe Gordon prevnted Bamberg to keep that lead against Rishon.
La Mans - Benfica Lisbon 78-65

6th round (18/11/98)
Benfica Lisbon - TTL Bamberg 63-69
Le Mans 91 - Maccabi Rishon 89 OT (Rice 29, Stansbury 22, Kokru 19 - Nikolic 22, Washington 17, Cohen 15, Jamchy 13, Kadosh 13)
Maccabi Rishon's reinforced bench dragged the French to over-time. Because it already promised the 1st place in it's house, It allowed to Joe Dawsen and to Motti Daniel to remain in Israel to rest, and to Tomas Pacesas to return to Lithuania.
