Outlook:
He is QUICK, extremely difficult to stay in front of in open space. As a strong ball-handler, teams don't have much success full-court pressing him. Alex Mar is, perhaps, one of the best Asian point guards around; with a thorough basketball IQ he has the ability to control the game in order to find/create the mismatches on the floor, so make sure to communicate on defense and have proper rotations. The combination of his explosive first step with complete body control makes him a dynamic finisher at the rim. He has a fast mid-range pull up with exceptional scoring instincts. An efficient passer with both hands, Alex does a great job finding his shooters anywhere on the court. He is a very strong on-ball defender and matches up well with other guards taller or shorter. Alex can be a more consistent 3-point shooter and will sometimes misread tempos when a game shifts in other directions. Overall, his veteran approach to the game combined with his athletic abilities will inevitably allow him to surprise you in numerous ways night in and night out.
